The European Journal of Clinical Pharmacy® (EJCP) relies on the expertise and dedication of peer reviewers to uphold the quality and integrity of the research it publishes. Reviewers play a critical role in maintaining scientific excellence by providing constructive, objective, and timely evaluations of submitted manuscripts.

1. Scope of Review

Reviewers are expected to assess manuscripts related to the journal’s core areas, including:

  • Clinical Pharmacy

  • Clinical Pharmacology

  • Pharmacoepidemiology

  • Pharmacoeconomics

  • Pharmacotherapy

  • Clinical Management

2. Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Confidentiality: All manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents. Do not share content or discuss with others unless authorized by the Editor-in-Chief.

  • Objectivity and Constructiveness: Provide an unbiased, respectful, and clear critique. Criticism should be aimed at the work, not the authors.

  • Timeliness: Submit your review within the agreed deadline. If you cannot meet the deadline, notify the editorial office immediately.

  • Conflict of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts (financial, institutional, collaborative, or personal) that could bias your review.

3. Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers should assess manuscripts based on:

  • Relevance to the journal’s scope

  • Originality and scientific rigor

  • Clarity and organization of the manuscript

  • Soundness of methodology and data analysis

  • Interpretation and significance of findings

  • Ethical standards and research integrity

  • Quality of references and literature integration

4. Review Format

A structured report is preferred, typically including:

  • Summary of the manuscript

  • Major strengths

  • Major concerns (with suggestions for improvement)

  • Minor issues (e.g., typographical or formatting errors)

  • Recommendation: Accept / Minor Revisions / Major Revisions / Reject

5. Ethical Considerations

  • Report any concerns about plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical research practices to the editorial team immediately.

  • Ensure your review promotes academic integrity and contributes to the enhancement of scientific knowledge.

6. Recognition and Credits

Reviewers may receive formal acknowledgment for their contributions and are encouraged to list their reviewing activities on academic platforms like Publons or ORCID (if supported).
